Information and advice about special educational needs and disabilities for people who live in Bournemouth

We used to be known as the Parent Partnership. SENDIASS stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service.

We help children and young people up to 25 years old, and their families. We can help you with things like:

General help

  • Putting you in touch with someone who can help
  • Getting ready for meetings or going to them with you
  • Bournemouth's Local Offer

Impartial advice and information

  • Visit IPSEA for advice about the law 
  • We also provide advice about special needs legislation
  • Free and confidential advice and support on SEND, health and social care
  • Helping you write letters and understand reports
  • Providing information on how disagreements are resolved


  • Finding and visiting schools with you
  • Speaking with your child’s school if you’re worried that your child isn't getting the right support
  • Supporting you over school exclusions if your child has SEND
  • Applying for an Education Health and Care Plan (EHC)
  • Putting you in touch with Independent Supporters to help you with the EHC Plan transfer process
