Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund
The Mayor of Bournemouth supports local charities with his Appeal Fund
The Mayor of Bournemouth has the opportunity to support specific charities during his time in office.
The current Mayor, Councillor Edward Coope, supports the following local charities:
The Stable Family Home Trust
(Charity No 1093672)
The Stable Family Home Trust was established as a charity in 1980 by a group of families whose young people had learning disabilities. As there were few family-based living options at that time, the charity set up a residential home at The Stables, Bisterne, Hampshire.
As demand for the service grew, the charity purchased three houses in the Southbourne area of Bournemouth, supporting 33 adults with a learning disability in these four homes and 115 learning- disabled people who access this service 5 days a week together with a Domiciliary Care Service for 22 people in their own homes. The age range of the people we support is 18 – 65 years plus.

The Bournemouth Parks Foundation
(Charity No 1159938)
The Foundation was launched via the Heritage Lottery Fund & Big Lottery Fund Programme to protect and enhance all the parks, green spaces, gardens and nature reserves in Bournemouth working in partnership with Bournemouth Borough Council. Its aim is to attract donations from park users, including via endowments and legacies, and to apply for grant-funding for projects which the Council is unable to apply for.
Its objects are to provide and enhance the facilities, maintenance and equipping of parks, gardens, landscaped areas, woodland, open spaces, playing fields, playgrounds and nature reserves, and to advance public education particularly in respect of horticulture, arboriculture, ecology, geology, archaeology, heritage and local history.

The Charity supports the Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals to provide the excellent care we would expect for our own families by enhancing patient care and comfort, providing state of the art and extra equipment and facilities, and investing in its experienced staff to support improved patient health and wellbeing.
I am specifically supporting the Urology Department for Men’s Health/Cancer Treatment.
