Changes To Your Bin Collections
We've moved to an alternate weekly collection. You'll receive an information pack in April with your new collection date.
In April 2017 we're introducing a new waste and recycling service, which means a change in how often we collect your bins.
Big Bin and Little Bin collections
As part of the new service, your Big Bin (recycling) and Little Bin (rubbish) will be collected on alternate weeks.
You will still get a weekly collection: Big Bin (recycling) one week and your Little Bin (rubbish) the next.
Improved food waste collection service
We will also improve the weekly food waste collection service by offering a larger 23 litre food waste container, which we will collect every week. You can still use your 12 litre food waste container, if you prefer.
Information pack coming soon
The collection routes will also be changing, so the day or week that your bins are collected might be different. We'll send an information pack to you, including your new collection dates, in April.
What you can do
Make the most of the food waste service
Over 30,000 households already use the food waste scheme. Food waste is collected weekly and the new, enhanced, service gives you a choice in the size of food container.
Ask for an extra recycling bin
You can apply for an extra recycling bin if you need more space to recycle
Ask for an assessment for an extra rubbish bin
You can ask for an assessment for an additional rubbish bin if you have:
- five or more permanent occupants in your household
- two or more children in nappies
- a medical condition that generates extra waste.
